Hello, and Welcome to the Thursday Challenge by Create with Connie & Mary. It is getting close to Christmas, and I decided to make a gift tag for today’s color challenge.
The Challenge:
The Tag:
I do not know about you, but I love to fussy-cut while watching sports on TV. Since football is on now with the Super Bowl coming up soon, I have been watching a lot of sports in the evening, giving me time to cut some gorgeous designer series paper (DSP) The Boughs of Holly pack of DSP is my favorite of the season. I love that the color challenge did not dictate a specific red or green to pair with gold. The leaves have three shades of green, and the poinsettia has a couple of shades of red.
The Details:
Above is a close-up view of the tag. I want you to see the Basic White cardstock (CS), cut with the Dots and Spots die, glued over the 4 1/2″ x 2 5/8″ piece of a gold foil sheet. This created a lovely background upon which to glue my poinsettias and tuck some Gold Holly leaves behind them as accents. Gold Holly Leaves are on sale, and don’t forget FREE shipping on December 15th, 24 hours only!
TIP: After die-cutting the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Basic White CS, I cut two tags, cutting 4 1/4″ x 2 3/8″, leaving a small section at the bottom.
Another View of the Tag:
Because I was making multiple tags, I used a 1/2″ strip of scrap Real Red to white heat-emboss several sentiments before cutting them apart, each being 1-3/4″ long. After matting onto a slightly larger gold foil sheet, I glued it in place before adding a solitary Red Jewel to the bottom corner. Although I did not take a photo of the back of the tag, I stamped To: and From: from the Celebrate With Tags stamp set using Real Red ink.
I hope you like the tag. This will be the decoration on my gifts wrapped in craft paper with a red and green plaid ribbon this Christmas. Click HERE to see what the other design team members have created to inspire you.
