Always Thinking of You CCMC747

Welcome to the Thursday Challenge by Create with Connie & Mary. I hope you enjoyed family and friends over Christmas as we celebrated the birth of Christ. I am blessed to have had my entire family home. However, it is time to focus on the Sketch Challenge of the day, for which I made an Always Thinking of You card.

The Card:

I made this card using 1 1/8″ strips of Splendid Day designer series paper (DSP). It is a specialty paper that has several printed foil sheets. It is an easy way to let the beautiful DSP do the “heavy lifting” of making a quick, elegant card. This DSP will be retiring soon, on January 4th. However, it is currently selling for $6.00 for a 12-sheet pack. (regularly $15.00) Furthermore, as I looked today, it is still available, so you may want to look at the “Last Chance” sale online. The DSP is available only while supplies last.

A Side View of Always Thinking of You:

I have used an eclectic array of products to make this”card. Can you see the new things I used from the upcoming Jan-April Mini Catalog? The oval with frame is part of the early release product, Framed Florets. I used a new embossing folder, coming soon, named Metal Plate 3D embossing folder. If you use it to emboss silver foil, it appears to be material used to make a silver toolbox for the bed of a pick-up truck. However, used on Very Vanilla cardstock, it adds some delightful texture to this card.

Furthermore, I used the sentiment from a new stamp set named Nested Friends. Have I told you lately that I love being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator? One of the things I love the most is being able to order new products from an upcoming catalog a whole month before the catalog goes live.

I added a couple of Brushed Metallic Dots found in the Annual Catalog to finish my card. I hope you like it!
