Welcome to the Thursday Challenge by Create with Connie & Mary. We have a color challenge today for which I used the Sending Smiles stamp set to make A Card to Say Hello.
The Challenge:
The Card:
I knew immediately the card I wanted to make with these colors! The finished card is a bit different than what was in my head. I had not anticipated putting the frame on Basic White cardstock (CS). However, when I laid out the card without the white panel, it did not “pop.” Then, I found that having the frame on the white panel made it very easy to glue to the card base.
Details of A Card to Say Hello:
I designed a portrait-oriented card folded at the top. After die-cutting the Fancy Frame die, I glued it to a panel of Basic White CS. Next, I stamped the stem and leaves with Parakeet Party ink and the flowers in Daffodil Delight with Starry Sky centers then die-cut them with the corresponding dies.
The Assembly:
The die-cut stem is a bit tall, so I placed it inside the frame, then cut the bottom off with Snips at the bottom inside line of the frame. Next, I dimensioned the flowers on the stem. From the set, I used a small sentiment stamped with Starry Sky ink and die-cut with the small label die, leaving off the large “SENDING” stamp. I added the wording to the card front at the inside line of the frame with mini dimensionals. In the picture above, the small Daffodil Delight flowers that I stamped on the inside panel can be seen.
Finally, I added the focal panel to the card base and placed a few Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots as accents.
I hope you like my card. The other Thursday Challenge Team Member’s creations can be seen by clicking HERE. I hope you will join us again next Thursday for a Sketch Challenge.
