Welcome to a Color Challenge today from Create with Connie & Mary! I am sharing a note card for this challenge and encourage you to follow the link to see what the other design team members created.
The Challenge:
The Just A Note Card:
Looking through my designer series paper (DSP), I found the Perfectly Penciled DSP from the Annual Catalog that will end in two months. I decided to use a 2″ strip of it to color for this color challenge. I love how bright and colorful it is to write a note to a friend.
The Details:
The Measurements:
- Card Base – Sweet Sorbet Cardstock (CS) – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score and fold at 4 1/4.”
- Layer 1 – Basic Black CS – 2 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
- Layer 2 – Perfectly Penciled DSP – 2″ x 5 1/2″
- Layer 3 – Basic Black CS – 2 3/4″ square, punch with the Decorative Circle punch
- Layer 4 – Basic White CS – 2 1/4″ square, die-cut with the fourth smallest Layering Circle die.
- Inside Layer – Basic White CS – 4″ x 5 1/4″
Assembly:
- Color Layer 2 using Sweet Sorbet, Daffodil Delight (because we no longer carry Mango Melody), and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends Combos. Use the darker color on the shaded areas of the floral images and add the lighter color.
- Adhere Layer 2 to Layer 1, then to the left side of the card base leaving a 1/4″ margin.
- Use Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the sentiment from Go To Greetings on Layer 4.
- Adhere Layer 4 to Layer 3, then dimensional onto the card front, as shown.
- Add the Inside Layer and decorate as desired. I left mine blank to write a note.
Up-Close:
A more detailed view of the coloring is seen in the photo above. And, as a finishing touch, I added some Loose Frosted Dots that became available yesterday in the new Online Exclusive offering. If you have not gotten any of the Perfectly Penciled DSP, I encourage you to look at it again in the Annual Catalog. I find it a great packet of DSP when my mojo is low.
