Welcome to the Thursday Challenge by Create With Connie & Mary. Today is a sketch challenge for which I made a Tulip birthday card.
The Challenge:
The Tulip Card:
Who doesn’t like tulips, especially when used as wrapping for a birthday gift! I love the Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the 2022 January-June Mini Catalog. I used the new Evening Evergreen Windowpane Check Ribbon to simulate the ribbon on the gift. To keep in line with the sketch challenge, I die-cut the Soft Succulent cardstock with the smallest Layering Circle die, cut it in half, and glued the halves behind the top-right of the DSP before dimensioning onto the card front.
More Details:
I took the liberty of moving the banner below the focal square of DSP instead of on the focal point shown in the sketch. After stamping the sentiment with Evening Evergreen ink, I bannered the right end of the 3 1/4″ x 1″ strip and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to add it to the card front. As you can see, I triple stamped the tulip on the inside of the card using Pale Papaya ink for the first image, Pumpkin Pie for the second, and Evening Evergreen for the pistil. I used Soft Succulent ink for the leaves.
Up-Close:
Although the lovely ribbon looks like I tied it on the package, I used two 4 1/2″ pieces stretched across the DSP and stuck to the backside with Seal+. I made the bow separately and adhered it at the intersection of the ribbons with a Mini Glue Dot. Click HERE if you would like to see what the other inspirational design team members have made.
