It is Christmas in July for this month’s Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop. If you send handcrafted cards for Christmas, now is the time to start! I am using the Iconic Imagery bundle to inspire your creativity.
The Christmas Card:
I am using traditional Christmas colors for this card: Real Red and Garden Green with Balmy Blue and Crushed Curry touches. Deep down, I am a traditional kind of girl. What about you?
The Details:
Measurements:
- Real Red Cardstock (CS) – 11″ x 4 1/4“, scored and folded at 5 1/2“, 4” x 1/2” strip for embossing, (9) 1-1/8” squares.
- Garden Green CS – 5 1/4” x 4″
- Basic White CS – (9) 1″ squares and 3 3/4“x 2 1/4″, die-cut with Iconic Imagery die, 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside.
Assembly:
- Stamp the solid image of the tree on three 1″ squares by stamping with stamped-off Garden Green ink. Next, stamp the details of the tree with Garden Green ink. Finally, use the bullet tip of a dark Real Red Blends marker to add the (dots) ornaments to the trees.
- Stamp the snowflakes on three 1″ squares using Balmy Blue ink. Add a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center of each snowflake.
- Stamp the solid image of the candles on three 1″ squares by stamping with stamped-off Real Red ink. Next, stamp the stripes on the candles with Real Red ink. Stamp the flames with the solid flame only using Crushed Curry ink. Add some foliage by stamping a part of the leafy stamp at the bottom of the candles. Brush Wink of Stella on the flames.
- Glue all the 1″ stamped squares to the (9) 1 1/8” squares and arrange them on the Garden Green panel as shown in the photo.
- Use Real Red ink to stamp Celebrate on the die-cut Basic White CS. Adhere to the card with dimensionals.
- White heat-emboss the “Let’s” and “The Season” onto the 1/2″ strip of Real Red CS. Rub the embossing buddy over the strip. Stamp the sentiments with Versamark. Dust with white embossing powder, tapping off the excess, then heat-set. Trim close to the letters and glue to the die-cut sentiment piece.
- Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel inside the card and decorate as desired.
An Up-close Look:
The photograph above shows a close-up of the images and embellishments. The Wink of Stella, though difficult to see in the close-up photo, adds just the right touch of luster to the card. One of my grandchildren will love this card. Pictured below are icons of the supplies I used to create this card. If you want to order products from me, click the icon to visit my store.
