Welcome to the Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop! We have a theme this month of Hot Summer Nights. The theme is apropos, as it has been one of the hottest summers for us, and it is really an anything-goes type theme. With that being said, I am going to Enjoy the Journey into fall during these hot summer nights.
My Card:
The idea of it getting cooler as summer wanes is a great one. Even now, the summer nights are not cooling down enough! I am using the Inspirational Sketches stamp set to make this card that reminds me of cooler evenings.
Details of the Hot Summer card:
The Measurements:
- The Base – Mossy Meadow Cardstock (CS) – 8 1/2” x 5 1/2“, score and fold at 4 1/4“
- Layer 1 – Early Espresso CS – 5 1/8” x 3 3/8“
- Layer 2 – Basic Beige CS – 4 7/8” x 3 5/8“, embossed with the Fern 3D embossing folder after inking with Mossy Meadow ink.
- Layer 3 – Mossy Meadow CS – 3 1/4” x 3″
- Layer 4 – Very Vanilla CS – 3″ x 2 3/4“
- Inside Layer 1 – Early Espresso CS – 5 1/4” x 4″
- Inside Layer 2 – Very Vanilla CS – 5 x 3 3/4“
Assembly:
- Adhere Layer 2 to Layer 1, then to the card Base.
- Use Early Espresso ink to stamp the flowers onto Layer 4; color the flower centers with the SU300 Blends marker.
- Use Mossy Meadow ink to stamp the sentiment under the flower image.
- Adhere Layer 4 to Layer 3, then dimensional onto Layer 2.
- Tie a knot in the Natural Polka Dot Trim keeping the polka dots to the back. Adhere, as shown, to Layer 2, under the focal image.
- Adhere Inside Layer 2 to Inside Layer 1, then into the card. Decorate as desired.
