Hello! Welcome to the Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop! This month, we are celebrating Sale-A-Bration (SAB). The Heartfelt Hellos and the Detailed Dogwoods are two of my favorite sets in this year’s SAB offerings. Without further ado, here is the card.
The Card:
I selected Petal Pink and Old Olive for my color palette. I am pleased with how the card turned out, and I like that it can be used for many occasions: Mother’s Day, Birthday, Graduation, etc. The two stamp sets I used from the SAB catalog are Detailed Dogwood for the images and Heartfelt Hellos for the sentiment. To add interest to the card, I chose the Quatrefoil Tile embossing folder from the annual catalog and the Softly Sophisticated 3D embossing folder from SAB.
The Details of the SAB Dogwood Card:
If you noticed, the front of the card looks like there are two pieces of Petal Pink. You are not seeing things. Everybody, me included, makes mistakes as we craft our cards. Today was one of those days. I got the card front all glued into place and proceeded to try to put the cardstock on the inside of the card, only to find that the card opened from the TOP! What to do? I opted to cut the card apart and glue the finished card front to a new Petal Pink card….sigh.
The Measurements:
- Base – Petal Pink Cardstock (CS) – 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored and folded at 5 1/2″
- Layer 1 – Old Olive CS – 3 7/8″ square, embossed with the Quadrafoil Tile embossing folder (EF)
- Layer 2 – Basic White CS – 3 3/4″ square, die-cut with the largest Thoughtful Expressions die, then embossed with the Softly Sophisticated 3D EF.
- Layer 3 – Basic White CS – 3 3/4″ square.
- Layer 4 – Basic White CS – 4″ x 1 1/2″, die-cut with the largest banner die from the Stylish Shapes dies.
- Layer 5 – Old Olive CS – 1″ square, die-cut with the double leaf die from Thoughtful Expressions dies.
- Inside Layers – 1) Old Olive 4″ x 5 1/4″, 2) Basic White 3 3/4″ x 5″
Assembly:
- Stamp the Dogwood flowers on Layer 3 using Gray Granite ink. Color the leaves with the Old Olive Light Blends Marker. Color the outside edges of the flowers with a Petal Pink Dark Blends Marker. Brush Clear Wink of Stella over all the flowers. Fussy cut the image.
- Use Dimensionals to adhere Layer 3 to Layer 2 to Layer 1, then to the Base.
- Stamp the sentiment from Heartfelt Hellos onto Layer 4 using Old Olive ink, then glue it to the Base.
- Adhere Layer 5 to Layer 4, as shown. Add clear Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems to the centers of the flowers and optionally to the base of the leaves. Glue dot a bow to the Base of the flowers.
- Adhere Inside Layer 2 to Inside Layer 1, then inside the card. Decorate the inside as desired. (I stamped the Happy Mother’s Day sentiment from Heartfelt Hellos)
Up-Close View:
The photo above is a little wonky because I was trying to capture the Wink of Stella on the flowers. I made the bow using the Petal Pink ribbon from the Ribbon Duo Combo Pack found in the annual catalog and added it to the base of the flowers with a Mini Glue Dot.
I hope you like the card and will click the next name in line to continue on this hop. The other talented demonstrators have also used Sale-A-Bration products in their posts today. Enjoy!
