Thank you for joining our Thursday creative challenge by Create with Connie & Mary. I am using the Two-Tone Flora bundle to create a Thinking of You card to meet this week’s color challenge.
The Challenge:
The Card:
I am currently at a retreat and forgot my By The Bay designer series paper (DSP) with all three colors, so I had to pivot. I decided to use the Two-Tone Flora bundle along with the Stylish Shapes dies to create this card. Can you see the detail on the first level of this card? I accomplished this by using the Simply Scored tool to score at each 1/4″ interval, an easy way to add texture to a card.
Details of the Think of You CCMC750 card:
To make the flowers, I stamped three of the largest solid flowers on Basic White cardstock with Coastal Cabana ink, then stamped the detailed image over it using Night of Navy ink. I also stamped five of the leafy sprigs with Pear Pizzazz ink. Finally, I cut all the stamped images with the coordinating dies.
I die-cut the largest of the Stylish Shapes circles and embossed it with the new Cane Weave 3D embossing folder. I then cut it in half to create the vase. I glued a 3/8″ strip of Coastal Cabana cardstock approximately 1 1/2″ from the bottom of the front panel to ground the vase. The lower two flowers are glued, overlapping the vase with the top flower being dimensioned. I was careful to glue the flowers only in the center so I could “prune” the leafy sprigs and tuck them under the flowers, securing them with a bit of glue.
The sentiment is stamped with Night of Navy ink onto Basic white cardstock, then die-cut with the largest Stylish Shapes banner before being dimensioned onto the card as shown.
An Up-close Look:
In the photo above, the detail of the vase is easier seen as well as the detail of the first panel. I scattered a few Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels around as a finishing touch.
I hope you like the card and will go HERE to see what the other design team members have created for your inspiration. Following is a list of the products used to create this card.
