Welcome to the Create with Connie & Mary Thursday Challenge! I used one of the Love Cats to create my card for today’s sketch challenge.
The Challenge:
The Card:
No kidding, the first thing I thought of when I looked at the sketch challenge for today was this cat lazily lying on a shelf, waiting for someone to make their appearance. He holds the “sign” that reads, “Hi, There!”
Love Cat Card Details:
Talk about letting designer series paper (DSP) do all the heavy lifting in constructing a card; this one is the cat’s meow. (Pun intended) I used Cajun Craze cardstock (CS) to make an A2 card base (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″). Next, I added a 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer of Delicate Desert DSP followed by a 2″ x 4″ strip of coordinating DSP from the same package. Using Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the cat image and the sentiment on scrap pieces of Basic White CS and cut them out with Paper Snips.
After adhering the Pale Papaya faux velvet trim on the card with Stampin’ Seal+, I glued the cat to the top of a 2 1/2″ x 3/4″ strip of Basic White CS. Finally, I used mini glue dots to adhere the focal piece onto the trim and some mini dimensionals behind the cat’s head, back, and bottom of his tail.
Finishing Touch:
As my finishing touch, I scattered several Iridescent Pastel Gems on the card front. Because the inside of the card is dark CS, I added a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White CS to the inside with a 1/2″ strip of matching DSP along the bottom. I love how you interpreted this sketch! It’s so clever to have the cat holding the “Hi there.” Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Alicia! So glad you like it.
