Welcome to the Create with Connie & Mary Thursday Challenge. I am using several different stamp sets to create this adorable “Love You” card.
The Challenge:
Today’s challenge is a “CASE” (copy and share everything, or copy and selectively edit). Therefore, we can use the layout, the colors, or the stamp set to make the challenge card. I used the layout.
The Card:
I was pretty happy with this challenge and knew I would use the Alphabet stamp set and tiny ticket punch (Best Label), and I chose to use the bright 2022-2024 In-Colors by Stampin’ Up! This card will be fun to send to my granddaughter. I added a Basic White inside layer to write a happy note about my pride in her accomplishment.
The Love You Details:
Knowing that I wanted the “love” to be spelled horizontally across the card, I also wanted it laid out diagonally. To accomplish this, I stamped the word love three times with Starry Sky and once with Sweet Sorbet, then punched the letters out. I arranged them on a 2 3/4″ x 4″ piece of 2022-2024 In-Color designer series paper (DSP). After adhering a 1″ x 4 3/4″ Sweet Sorbet piece of DSP onto the Starry Sky card base, I glued the “love panel,” slightly offset, as shown.
Taking my cue from the challenge card, I used the Count On Me stamp set to choose the darling kangaroo. Once stamped with Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Crumb Cake, Sweet Sorbet, and Parakeet Party Blends markers, I die-cut her out with an oval die from All That dies.
But where did the “YOU” come from? I’m glad you asked, LOL. I used a Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Write Marker to ink up only the YOU from a sentiment in the Good Feelings stamp set. I stamped it onto the far right side of a 1/2″ strip of scrap Basic White cardstock, then trimmed it to length. After attaching the strip behind the oval, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the card front.
The Finishing Touches:
I added three tiny Parakeet Party 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots to close the gap between the kangaroo and the sentiment. Using a Starry Sky Stampin’ Blends marker, I colored a white Crinkled seam binding length. After letting it dry, I tied a bow to glue-dot in place. I have listed the products used to create this card. You can order any item by clicking on the icon.
I hope you like my fun kids’ card and hope you will click HERE to see what the other Design Team has made using this challenge. See you next Thursday, if not before!
