It’s Your Day CCMC705

Welcome to the Thursday Challenge by Create with Connie & Mary. I have used two stamps from the Annual Catalog for the sketch challenge. It’s your day, enjoy it!

The Challenge:

The Card:

A birthday card using bright green, two shades of purple and two shades of pink on three flowers in the upper left corner. Stamps by Stampin' Up!It’s your day! Yes, this is a bright, happy birthday card using stamp sets Happiest Birthday and All Things Fabulous, both from the current annual catalog.

Stamps by Stampin' Up!The card is a standard A2 greeting card measuring 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″. One sheet of 8 1/5″ x 11″ cardstock was cut in half and scored/folded in half. I only mention that because a dear friend of mine who was a scrapbooker always made 6″ x 6″ cards because she was used to using 12″ x 12″ scrapbook-sized cardstock. I will never forget the lightbulb flashing on in her brain and shining through her eyes when I told her this tidbit. Unbeknownst to me, she had been struggling to remember the dimensions of a greeting card.

Up-Close:

Up-close view of a birthday card using bright green, two shades of purple and two shades of pink on three flowers in the upper left corner. Stamps by Stampin' Up!I want you to see the sparkle on the flowers, which is subtle but lovely in person. To achieve this, I stamped the flowers on Shimmery White cardstock before die-cutting them to dimensional onto the card. Finally, I added three 2020-2022 In-Color Square gems as the finishing touch.

After making this card, I decided to use circles, as shown in the sketch. So, here is a bonus card for you this week! (Happy Thursday!)

Bonus Card:

An alternate CCMC705 card of birthday card using bright green, two shades of purple and two shades of pink on three circles in the upper left corner. Stamps by Stampin' Up!I used the same layout and colors (except Old Olive for small circles) by die-cutting circles with the Picture This Dies and then used a different sentiment. I will NEVER get rid of this stamp because “Late” should have been my middle name! LOL. In the end, I think I like this card better than the original.
