Welcome to this week’s Create with Connie & Mary Thursday Challenge. Today we are tasked with Sketch Challenge 693. My card is a simple card using red, white, and black. Here is
The Challenge:
Although the sketch challenge looks like a square card, I opted to create a regular-sized greeting card (A2) 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. I hope you like it.
The Card:
Most of us can never have enough masculine birthday cards on hand. Doesn’t the focal piece look like a shirt pocket? This is a simple layout, enhanced by the embossed front layer. Of course, I did the stamping first and then used the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder for the subtle embossing. The Pattern Party Designer Series Paper (DSP) that comes free to a qualifying hostess is what I used for the focal piece. TRIVIA: This is the first time, in my 14 years as a demonstrator, that I have seen DSP offered as a hostess reward! It is a very generous package of DSP; 48 sheets! Why not book a party, so you get the hostess benefits?
More Details:
I used the Biggest Wish and Happiest of Birthdays stamp sets from the current Annual Catalog. Wait until you see the inside! For the pop of red, I used the Real Red Double-Stitched ribbon.
The Inside:
I continued the color theme inside the card and added the same DSP as on the card front. I hope you like my card, which I think could easily be a masculine birthday card. Click HERE to see what the other design team members have made for today’s sketch challenge.
