Woohoo! It is Thursday, which means that I am showing a card made to fulfill a color challenge by Create with Connie and Mary as a Design Team member. I must confess that I added pops of gold as accents. Here is
The Challenge:
The Card:
When I saw the challenge, my first thought was of the gorgeous Blackberry Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) by Stampin’ Up! I used this gilded DSP, taking a cue from the shiny gold to use both gold heat embossing and the 3/8″ shimmery gold ribbon to accent the card. This photo certainly does not do it justice.
More Details:
This photo shows how all the colors coordinate, and the pop of gold makes the card pop. I used simple cardstock layering, creating each layer 1/4″ larger on both horizontal and vertical cuts. I did add some dimensionals to the Early Espresso layer on the card front. TIP: Truthfully, I used some scraps of our Adhesive Sheets that I had left over from a previous project. Save those thin strips that many see as waste. Do you see the sneak peek of this inside of the card? Let me show you all of it.
The Inside:
I am not sure that you noticed what stamp set I used for the card front sentiments. Does this cake help? If you say the Party Puffins stamp set, you are correct! After stamping the cake with Tuxedo Black ink, I colored the image with two types of markers because there are some colors for which we have no Stampin’ Blends. I colored the Cinnamon Cider and Daffodil Delight areas with Stampin’ Blends. For the Early Espresso and Rich Razzleberry colors, I used Stampin’ Write markers.
