Welcome to my weekly blog as a design team member for Create With Connie And Mary‘s Thursday Challenge. I answered this sketch challenge with a fall birthday card.
The Challenge:
The Card:
I changed the orientation of the sketch to design this straightforward yet elegant fall birthday card. The small strips of gold metallic specialty paper above and below the Blackberry Beauty designer series paper (DSP) add pizzazz to the card. In my opinion, this card is gender-neutral, and anyone would be happy to receive it. (especially if we add a little ‘green’ on the inside)
Some Details:
I used Rich Razzleberry cardstock (CS) for the card base. The sentiment is from the Nuts About Squirrels stamp set, stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink onto Cinnamon Cider CS. Do you notice the 3/8″ strip of Gold Metallic Specialty DSP behind the sentiment as well as above and below the focal DSP? Speaking of the DSP, it is from the Blackberry Beauty DSP pack and measures 4 1/4″ x 3 1/4″.
My trusty bone folder came into play as I curled the sentiment CS down on the left and up on the right. I used mini glue dots to attach it to the gold metallic specialty DSP.
Finishing Touches:
I placed a solo Gilded Gem to the right of the sentiment to add some additional bling without going wild. Finally, I added a layer of Very Vanilla CS to the inside of the card, ready for fall birthday wishes to be stamped or written inside.
I hope you like my card today. I encourage you to click HERE to see what the other talented design team members have created for your inspiration. Furthermore, all the supplies needed to complete this card are listed below. Have a great weekend as we enter the fall season of another year.
