Hello! Welcome to the Create with Connie & Mary Thursday Challenge! Of course, I had to make a young girl’s Halloween card since I have three granddaughters! The CCMC688 is a color challenge.
The Challenge:
The Card:
Luckily, the Cute Halloween designer series paper (DSP) has all three colors in this color challenge! The stars in the above photo were added to the DSP using the Cute Stars Adhesive-Backed Sequins. Although the image does not show how shiny they are, they add significant “bling” to the card.
Some Details of the Girl’s Halloween Card:
Since I let the DSP carry most of the weight of making this card adorable, it was pretty easy to put together. Therefore, you can make it when the call comes in that “we are on our way over to see you and bringing the kids.” If you have the supplies, ten minutes start to finish, cutting to complete. It is an A2 card base.
Cutting Tips:
The Flirty Flamingo cardstock measures 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″.
The DSP is cut to 5″ x 3 3/4″ and layered onto a Highland Heather panel that measures 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″.
As you can see in the photo, I cut the same sized panels for the inside, layering Basic White onto Highland Heather. The difference is that I added a 5″ x 3/8″ strip of the striped DSP from the same DSP pack.
The Finishing Touches:
I stamped the sentiment onto Pumpkin Pie CS with Tuxedo Black Memento ink for the focal piece, then die-cut it with the circle die from Frightful Tags. The witch’s hat was die-cut from the same set of dies. Finally, I colored the hatband with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker before dimensioning it onto the circle. After dimensioning the circle onto the card front, I added a few more of the Cute Stars sequins as the finishing touch.
