Hello, and welcome back!
TODAY IS THE FINAL SUNSET ON SALE-A-BRATION
I made today’s card using the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper (DSP) I know many of you have this DSP, so I want to show you one more way to use it. Turn the lily designs over to find a sort of water-color washed look on the back of the 12″ x 12″ sheets. The sky at sunset was made by sponging Crushed Curry ink over the DSP, where the white was showing. This technique gives the illusion of a tranquil evening sky so peaceful that birds fly freely over the lake. I used the By The Dock Bundle to create the scene. You talk about letting DSP do your work for you…this is it!
I found the moon, that I stamped with Crushed Curry ink on the same color cardstock, in the Mountain Air stamp set. After stamping, I punched the moon out with my 1″ circle punch and cut it in half then, butted the half-moon up to the bottom piece of DSP that slightly overlaps the top section.
The Measurements
- Balmy Blue – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored and folded at 4-1/4″.
- Lovely Lipstick – 5-1/4″ x 4″.
- Soft Suede – 2-3/4″ x 3″.
- Whisper White – 5-1/4″ x 4″ (inside), scrap.
- “Sky” DSP – 5″ x 2″.
- “Lake” DSP – 5″ 2″.
The Details
I stamped the pier withSoft Suede ink onto Soft Suede cardstock. The little bird was already sitting on the post! Then, I used Soft Suede ink to stamp the birthday sentiment from Label Me Bold in the January-June Mini Catalog. In case you have overlooked this stamp set as I did initially, go back and check it out again! I must say it has been convenient for me several times already, and today’s card is one of those times. I glued everything together with my favorite, multipurpose liquid glue, except adding the pier with dimensional and the sentiment with mini-dimensionals.
The Finishing Touch
I added the finishing touches to this card by stamping the birds in the sky and attaching the “rope” (really linen thread) to the post with a mini glue dot. My card today is somewhat “artsy” for me but, I think it works. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
Something Else Fading Into the Sunset
Do not forget that the Coordination Products that were released at the beginning of February will be retiring TONIGHT too!
Sadly, the Birthday Dies are already sold out. Today is your last chance to get these dies. There may be a couple of sets that carry-over into the new Annual Catalog; however, not all of them will carry-over for sure. Do you remember this brochure? You can click on the photo to see the entire brochure.
The Details
These Sending Flowers dies coordinates perfectly with the Sale-A-Bration FREE stamp set (only available until the end of the day!) Sending You Thoughts. Of course, it will fit many sentiments. So, there is no time to wait now! The card is quite simple. I used a Whisper White card base and sponged Grapefruit Grove and Old Olive ink directly on the card front. Then, I die-cut a 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ panel of Pretty Peacock cardstock with the floral die and added it over the sponged card front. After I stamped and die-cut the sentiment, I attached it and the bow to finish the card design.
The Finishing Touch
To add a little (or, in this case, a lot) of bling to my card, I added three different sizes of Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the flower centers.
There you have it, a twofer; two cards today to emphasize the fact that TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT (Mountain Time) Sale-A-Bration and the Coordination Products will fade into the sunset and no longer be available. Feel free to email, text, Facebook message, or contact me by phone if I can help you place an order. The following are the products used for the two cards shown today.
