Tucan Birthday Card

I am using the cute little Tucan from the Bonanza Buddies Bundle today.  This bundle is found in the Birthday Bonanza Suite in the January-June Mini Catalog.  Let’s look at

The Card

A birthday card with a tucan holding three ballons, using the Stampin' Up! Bonanza Buddies Bundle

The Measurements

Mango Melody – 7-1/4″ x 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 3″

Whisper White – 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ (inside)

Smoky Slate – 2-1/2″ x 4″

Ice Cream Cone DSP – 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″

Animal/Present DSP – 1″ x 5-1/4″

The Details

This was such a FUN card to make!  I used the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper (DSP) to decorate the majority of the card.  Stamping was limited to the tag that was die-cut with the Bonanza Dies and the sentiment from the Bonanza Buddies stamp set.  After die-cutting the tag, I stamped the sentiment, then the balloon strings and finally the Tucan, all using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  I stamped in this order to make it easier to line-up the bird’s beak with the balloon strings.  I punched-out the three “balloons” with the 1/2″ circle punch then used mini dimensionals to attach them to the tag.  After adding a small length of black twine, (from the Country Club Twine Combo Pack), I attached the tag to the card front with dimensionals.

You can scarcely see the inside sentiment but it reads, “I’m glad it’s your birthday so I can tell you how wonderful you are!”

Finishing Touches

Although I usually add finishing touches, the bit of twine was added to the tag before attaching it to the card front. I thought you might like to see a close up of the Tucan and the only coloring I did on him.  I used the Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark Bermuda Bay and, the Dark Calypso Coral Blends to color his beak.

Have fun creating a Tucan birthday card to give to that little someone special!
