Happy Labor Day, Everyone! I have a Halloween card to show you that I made with the Boo To You stamp set. As you know, the NEW HOLIDAY CATALOG goes LIVE this coming Wednesday, September 4th. So, it is time to get your wish lists out and start perusing the catalog for what you want to be on your first order.
THE BOO TO YOU CARD:
I just love these little monsters. I think they are more cute than scary. Let’s take a peak at the inside of the card:
Now, tell me how scared you really are! LOL!! This adorable set can be seen on page 57 of the Holiday Catalog. I must confess, I am a little (or a lot) bummed that we do not have dies for these guys. So, the truth is, once I stamped them, I needed to cut them out with my paper snips. Unless we get a big surprise, like a die to cut these little monsters, I would have to drag out my Scan & Cut if I were going to do several. However, one was not bad and…it is for someone very special so I did not mind at all.
As you can see, I used a piece of black foil sheet on the card front that I first embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder. I love using punches so, I used a Starburst punched base to set my monsters on. These little guys were adhered to the starburst with dimensionals and to the card front with dimensionals too. The coloring was done with Stampin’ Blends using Rich Razzleberry and Granny Apple Green. I added Mango Melody to the monster on the inside of the card.
The Measurements:
Rich Razzleberry Cardstock – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored and folded at 4 1/4″. -OR- 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored and folded at 5 1/2″. Scrap to punch.
Granny Apple Green Cardstock – 5″ x 3 3/4″ (inside), scrap to punch, scrap to stamp
Crushed Curry Cardstock – 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ (inside), scrap to punch, scrap to stamp
Whisper White Cardstock – 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ (inside), scrap to punch
Basic Black Cardstock – Scrap to punch
Black Foil Sheet – 5 1/4″ x 4″
The Details:
I was able to use a lot of my scraps to make this card. That always makes me happy. I stamped the sentiment shown on the card front with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto Whisper White and then punched with the 1 3/8″ scallop circle punch. I used the smallest Stitched Shape circle to cut the black layer it was glued onto before being adhered to the 1 1/2″ circle I punched from a Rich Razzleberry scrap. Again, I added it to the card with dimensionals too.
Don’t you LOVE the different colored, different sized, Assorted Googly Eyes!?!?! I added the googly eyes to the monsters with a touch of multipurpose liquid glue. The little monster man inside has eyes that were first colored with blends then jazzed up with a couple of the smallest rhinestone basic jewels that I colored with the Dark Black Blends.
I hope this gives you some Halloween card inspiration for a little one in your life. You simply cannot go wrong with this adorable Boo To You stamp set! Following is the product list that allows you to simply click on the icon to order what you need. Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!
