You are Loved CCMC764

Welcome to this week’s Thursday Creative Challenge by Create with Connie & Mary. For this Color Challenge, I used some Stampin’ Up! Country Floral Lane Designer series paper (DSP) to meet the challenge.

The Challenge:

The Card:

A Pink, Balmy Blue and gold greeting card to remind someone that they are loved. This is a card that anyone and everyone deserves to receive! Isn’t it nice to know and be reminded that you are loved? Perhaps we should send more of this type of card, just because, instead of waiting for that “special occasion.” What do you think? This straightforward card uses two sets of dies; Stylish Shapes and Give It A Whirl. Let’s look further.

Details of the You Are Loved Card:

Measurements:

  • Base: Petal Pink cardstock (CS) – 8.5″ x 5.5″, score and fold at 4.25″
  • Layer 1 –  Balmy Blue CS – 3.75″ square
  • Layer 2 –  Gold Foil Sheet – 3-3/8″ square
  • Layer 3 – Petal Pink – 3.25″ square
  • Layer 4 – Country Floral Lane DSP – 3″ square
  • Layer 5 – Gold Foil Sheet – scrap to die-cut four hearts from Give It A Whirl Dies
  • Layer 6 – Balmy Blue CS – 1.5″ x 3.75″, die-cut with the largest Stylish Shapes banner
  • Inside Layer 1 – Balmy Blue CS – 5″ x 3.75″
  • Inside Layer 2 – Basic White CS – 4.75″ x 3.5″

Assembly:

  • Adhere Layer 4 to 3 to 2 to 1, then to the top of the Base, leaving equal borders on the top and sides.
  • Use Seal or Seal+ to adhere the largest heart from Layer 5 to Layer 4. Then, dimension the other two hearts, retaining one for the inside (as seen above)
  • Stamp “Just a little reminder that you are loved” with Versamark ink on Layer 6. Dust it with gold embossing powder and heat-set, then dimension on the bottom portion of the Base.
  • Adhere the Inside Layer 2 to 1, then to the inside of the Base. Add the smallest of the gold foil hearts in the lower right corner of Inside Layer 2 with a glue dot.

An Up-Close Look:

An up-close look at a Pink, Balmy Blue and gold greeting card to remind someone that they are loved. With all the shine of the gold metallic hearts, I opted not to add “bling” to the card. Further, I admire the simplicity and subtle beauty of the card, and it expresses my love for my family and friends. Simple, not overpowering; subtle, not flagrant.

Both the Framed Florets stamp set (the sentiment stamp) and the Country Floral Lane DSP are about to retire. Therefore, I encourage you to buy them before they are gone.  You can click HERE to see what the other design team members have created for your inspiration.
