The Punch Art Card:
Color Challenge:
I hope you love him as much as I do. Using only the three challenge colors and Very Vanilla, the only stamping I did was with Evening Evergreen ink for the sentiment. The card base is Evening Evergreen with a Very Vanilla layer embossed with the Timber 3-D embossing folder. Let’s look at this guy in an up-close photo below.
Up-Close Pumpkin Witch:
I began by creating the character entirely before adhering it to the card front. I made the pumpkin using three larger embossed pumpkin die-cuts from the Rustic Pumpkin Dies, and the narrower, matching die-cut dimensioned in the middle. Next, I used the Witch Hat Builder punch to make the Rich Razzleberry hat. Using two pieces of Glitter Washi Tape from the Four-Pack, I carefully covered the hat band, trimmed the excess tape, and glued it to the hat. While I had the Rich Razzleberry cardstock out, I die-cut a moon using a Scary Silhouettes die for the mouth.
This pumpkin’s nose is the stem of the pumpkin die-cut from Evening Evergreen cardstock. I used a non-Stampin’ Up! element, the left-over googly eyes from an earlier project for his funny eyes. Furthermore, I used the Evening Evergreen cardstock for his hair and to ground him on the card. I cut several of the vines to construct his curly locks.
A Dimensional Look:
I can see the construction and adherence of the pumpkin witch (P/W) easier on this angled view of the card. Following are the steps taken for assembly. I first glued the finished hat onto the pumpkin and added a Stampin’ Dimensional to the top of the hat but did not remove the paper from the back. Then, I trimmed a bit from the top of the pumpkin stem and glued it under the bottom of the hat. Next, I glued the hair under the cap on the sides and added his googly eyes with multipurpose glue. Finally, I added the moon for his smile.
Finally, I removed the paper from the hat dimensional and glued the pumpkin to the card front, leaving room for the sentiment in an oval punched with the Double Oval Punch at the bottom. Before adding the sentiment to the card with dimensionals, I glued a couple of vines under the P/W to “ground” him on the card.
I think my grandson is going to love this card! Why not give it a try? Halloween will be here soon! You can find the products I used to create this card below. I hope to see you again next week. Have a great weekend.
Remember that I used one non-Stampin’ Up! product-googly eyes.
