Welcome to the Thursday Challenge with Create with Connie & Mary! I made a pretty card for today’s color challenge using the Fresh Cut Flowers stamp set.
The Challenge:
The Card:
I love these three colors together! However, I do not think I would have thought to make this color combination, which is why I love the challenges.
Details of the Fresh Cut Card:
This card is straightforward to make and have on hand for any occasion you need. The Orchid Oasis card base is standard 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. I used the second-largest Deckled Rectangles die to cut the Pear Pizzazz cardstock (CS) and the third largest to cut the Basic White CS.
After gluing the Pear Pizzazz deckled rectangle to the center of the card front, I stamped the most prominent image from Fresh Cut Flowers, using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, onto the Basic White rectangle. Since the leaves are small, I used my Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write marker to color them. Then, I used dark So Saffron and the Orchid Oasis Stampin’ Blends Combo to color the flowers. Finally, I added some speckles to this piece using the Orchid Oasis Stampin’ Write Marker, opening the brush tip and, holding it halfway inside the cap, flicking ink onto the paper. After I was happy with the result, I dimensioned this focal piece in the middle of the Pear Pizzazz rectangle.
The Inside and Finishing Touch:
Here, you can see the speckles better. If you have not tried speckling before, give it a try! You can practice on your grid pad first to see how close or far away to hold the marker. Also, I added a small hand-tied bow made with gold shimmer ribbon and secured with a mini glue dot.
Below, I left the inside blank, waiting to see for what occasion I will use the card. I did add a Pear Pizzazz border, using a die that comes in dies available this month only: Perfect Partners Dies.
