Birthday Card Swap

The First Card

“Wow!” is all I could say when I received this stunning swap from Kelly Acheson! If you have followed my blog very long, you may have noticed that the red, white, gray, and black is one of my favorite color combinations for cards. I think these colors used together are striking. Kelly used Stampin’ Blends to add color to the floral decorations on the cake. She white-heat-embossed the sentiment onto Basic Black cardstock. It stands out, right? Thank you, Kelly, for this awesome card sample.

The Second Card

Woo Hoo! Mindy Gray used my favorite color – purple for her swap card. Mindy used Stampin’ Blends to adorn this cake with a colorful array of flowers. Different from other cards I have posted, for this card, she has stamped the cake onto an oval and only die-cut the flowers that she attached with dimensionals. With careful attention to detail, she added the “Tufted- embossed” front panel to the card front, and the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon finishes this card nicely. Another great card! Thank you, Mindy Gray!

The Final Card (of the day)

Would you just look at this card! Can you say stunning?!? Although this card, designed by Jaye Ciontea, does not showcase a birthday cake, it uses the Happy Birthday To You Sale-a-Bration (SAB) stamp set. She let the papers and die-cuts do the talking on this card. First is the Purple Posy card base then, a Gorgeous Grape layer upon which is the NEW So Very Vellum Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the SAB Second Release. Jaye stamped the sentiment onto a Stitched Rectangle piece of 2019-2021 In-Color DSP. After attaching this to a larger Stitched Rectangle of Gorgeous Grape, she mounted it on the card with dimensionals. She colored the flowers with Stampin’ Blends and added Wink of Stella for glimmer, and rhinestones to the centers for glitz. Thank you, Jaye Ciontea, for swapping this beautiful card!
