HOME Decor

Hello, Stampers,

As we begin another year, I thought it would be fun to make a 5″ x 7″ framed art piece to keep in my kitchen as a reminder that HOME is where the heart is.  Home is where we get together with friends and family to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and summer fun.  This project is perfect because it is small enough to be able to display in almost any room in the house!  It is a fabulous gift for family or friends and can also be a grand raffle item if you take part in fundraisers.   You can easily change this project to use stamps and dies you already have or, you can make it how I made it.

Let’s take a look at each month:

January

Even though I live in South Texas, where we have only gotten snow twice in the 37 years, I have lived here, and it is enjoyable to remember snow back home in northern Illinois where I grew up.  Now, I just dream of snow while you all are dealing with it. (sorry, just had to say that)

February

Have you ever wanted to have a doily behind something, but the ones Stampin’ Up!® offers are just a tad too small?  Worry no more!! Making the February “O,” I made a discovery!  Simply cut the largest doily from the Doily Builder thinlits then use the fourth largest scallop circle die from Layering Circles to cut the center out! It works like a charm!

March

Speaking of charm, isn’t this guy ‘charming’! He is what happens when Best Bunny meets Family and Friends.

April

Easter most often falls in April, so I went with this cute little bunny.  He is easy to make with the Bunny Builder punch.

May

And, even though I didn’t make April about showers, I still made May about flowers.

June

Ahhh, June! Relaxing in the evening with no worries about homework.  Nice evening breezes. On the beach or in the backyard, an Adirondack chair and a glass of wine make life sweet.

July

Of course we all must celebrate our independence and be thankful for our freedom!! Happy Fourth of July is the theme for this month.

August

Just one last outing to the lake before school starts up again.  Relax. Enjoy.

September

As the end of the year rapidly approaches, the trees get ready for winter and give us a spectacular sight as the leaves change color. This “O” makes me pause to remember the rustling of the leaves and the crackling of them as we walked, ran and rolled in them. Fall is a beautiful time of year.

October

What would a Halloween be without a black cat?!?  This one is a cutey with his google eyes!

November

Here is the only theme that did not end up on a scallop circle.  This pumpkin suffices as the “O” for November. Running the ovals through the Subtle embossing folder gave it the look of a real pumpkin.

December

And, here, in my humble opinion, is the star of the show! Christmas. Here is a photo of it in the frame.

 Don’t you just love it?!?

Bonus Month

And, of course, since we were not all born in the same month, there has to be a birthday theme to substitute in that particular month.

I genuinely hope you like the project.  Most of the items used are current; however, some have sadly retired.  You can always substitute what you have.
