Father’s Day Fishing

Hello Crafters! Thank you for joining me today. Perhaps you would like to see a Father’s Day card I made using the Gone Fishing bundle.

A Challenge:

The Card:

A Father's Day card with a man and two kids sitting on a pier, fishing. Also displays a rainbow trout. As seen in the picture above, I turned the sketch from the portrait to the landscape position. As I have been told, “A sketch is a suggestion, not a commandment!” And, with Father’s Day coming up, maybe you want inspiration to make a card for the occasion. I used two stamp sets to make this card: Beside Me and Gone Fishing. Let’s look at some of the specifics.

Details of the Father’s Day Fishing Card:

  • Layer 1 – Misty Moonlight CS – 5.5″ x 4.25″, embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Layer 2 – Very Vanilla CS – 5 1/8″ x 3′
  • Layer 3 – Let’s Go Fishing DSP – (2) 0.5″ x 4″, cut a slant on each end, as shown.

  • Stamp the sentiment with Misty Moonlight ink in the upper right corner of Layer 2, then adhere it to the Card Base.
  • Add Layer 3 to Layer 2. Glue Layer 5 to Layer 4.
  • Use Gray Granite ink to stamp the fish from Gone Fishing on Layer 6. Color with Stampin’ Blends Combos: Smoky Slate, Old Olive, and Bubble Bath, then dimensional onto Layer 5.
  • Glue the Layer 4-5-6 unit to Layer 2 over Layer 3.
