WooHoo! Glad to see you! Thank you for joining me for the Thursday Create Challenge by Create with Connie & Mary. For the sketch challenge, I have created a simple thank you card.
The Challenge:
The Simple Thank You:
I used a new online exclusive Basics die, a small piece of the Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty designer series paper (DSP), and the sketch to create this card. Soft Succulent cardstock (CS) accentuates the focal DSP, as the sketch shows. I finally used a sentiment from the Happy Labels stamp set. If you need a simple thank you card, this sketch is for you. It will, of course, work with any DSP. Let’s look at the details of creating the card.
The Details:
The Measurements:
- Card Base: Crumb Cake CS – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″.
- Layer 1 – Crumb Cake CS – 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, embossed with the Basics 3-D Embossing Folder.
- Layer 2 – Soft Succulent CS
- A – 1 3/4″ x 2 3/4″
- B – 1 1/2″ x 2 1/4″
- Layer 3 – DSP – 2 3/4″ x 4″
- Layer 4 – Copper Foil Sheet – 3 1/4″ x 1/4″, angle cut at both ends with Snips.
- Layer 5 – Very Vanilla CS – 2 1/4″ x 1 1/2″, die-cut with the smallest, stand-alone rectangle in Stitched Rectangles.
- Inside Layer 1 – Very Vanilla CS – 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Inside Layer 2 – DSP – 4″ x 1/2″
Assembly:
- Glue Layer 1 to the card base. Position Layer 2, A. to the bottom left and B. to the upper right, making sure Layer 3 will fit over them, as shown. Glue in place.
- Use Seal or Seal+ to adhere Layer 3 to Layer(s) 2. (this will avoid a glue line being seen)
- Glue Layer 4 to Layer 3, as shown.
- Copper heat-emboss the thank you sentiment from Happy Labels onto Layer 5 and dimensional to the card, centering it over Layer 4.
- Add a large copper Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dot to the lower right corner of Layer 5.
- Adhere Inside Layer 2 to Layer 1, then to the inside of the card.
An Up-Close View:
In the photo above, we have a closer look at the positioning of Layers 2 through 5; however, I thought the texture in Layer 1 would be more pronounced. I think it can be seen better in the photo above it. If you live in the USA and would like to purchase any of the products needed to make this card, they are listed below.
