Hello! Welcome to another Thursday Challenge with Create With Connie and Mary. This week we have a color challenge. I used the Plentiful Plants bundle for my card.
The Challenge:
The Card:
When I saw the challenge, the first thing that came to my mind was the brick-patterned sheet of the ‘Bloom Where You’re Planted’ designer series paper (DSP). This DSP is part of the suite on pages 80-81 in the 2021-22 Annual Catalog. So, naturally, I chose the Plentiful Plants bundle, which is also in that suite of products. Then, using the colors in the challenge, I made this card.
Some Details:
My card is a standard A2-size card folded on the left side. The first two layers are the usual 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 3/4″ x 5″ panels. I used the three colors in the challenge and added a bit of Garden Green for depth. I glued the hanging basket from the Plentiful Plants bundle but used dimensionals to adhere the potted plant onto the card front. Then, for variation, I used dimensionals between the sentiment layer and the Mint Macaron mat layer, which I glued to the card front.
Going outside the Plentiful Plants bundle, I used a die (the potted plant pot) from the Potted Succulents dies. I stamped the image with Cinnamon Cider onto Pale Papaya cardstock and colored it with the Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Write Marker. Furthermore, you may have noticed the ‘roping’ used for the hanging plant is die-cut from Crumb Cake cardstock.
The Inside:
I carried the color scheme to the inside of the card by using the same matting and ink colors as on the card front. I stamped the sentiment high on the panel to leave room for writing the thank you note.
The Finishing Touch:
In this up-close photo, you can see more details of the plants. The Pale Papaya bow that I added for the finishing touch can also be seen. I hope I have inspired you with my card today. Moving on, it is time to click HERE to see what the other Challenge Team members have done with this color challenge. Thank you for stopping by to see my take on this week’s color challenge!
