Welcome to the Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop
I am happy that you are here! This month’s theme is “Welcome Fall Y’All”. Of course, when I think “fall”, I think of fall colors: Merry Merlot, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, etc. The “Birds of a Feather” stamp set was my choice to create my card today. I hope you like it.
The Card:
I glued two, 2″ panels of Come To Gather designer series paper onto a Crumb Cake card base. I colored the turkey with Stampin’ Blends Markers, and added a touch of gold glimmer, presto, a card was made.
The Inside:
I adhered a 3/4″ strip of designer paper on the bottom of the inside Very Vanilla panel. True confession: I originally stamped the sentiment with Merry Merlot ink and may or may not have stamped it extremely crooked. Consequently, I used the smallest Layering Circles die and cut the sentiment out of the panel. In order to make the sentiment larger to cover the hole, I used a little gold glimmer paper to die-cut the smallest scalloped circle from the Layering Circles dies. Finally, I die-cut the Merry Merlot circle with the next larger Layering Circle die. (There is almost always a way to “fix” a mistake!) After layering these three pieces, the unit was glued over the hole in the inside panel. I think it looks rather good, how about you?
Side View:
As you can see in this photo, the two round focal pieces were adhered to the card front with dimensionals.
The Measurements:
Crumb Cake – 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored and folded at 5 1/2″
Very Vanilla – 5 1/4″ x 4″, scraps to stamp
Cajun Craze – scraps to die-cut
Gold Glimmer Paper – scraps to die-cut
Designer Series Paper – (2) 4″ x 2″, 4″ x 3/4″
Up-close Look:
I used several fall colored Stampin’ Blends Markers to color in my little turkey image as follows:
Dark Soft Suede: whole turkey.
Dark Basic Black: the hat.
Dark Daffodil Delight: hat band and beak.
Dark Cherry Cobbler: Apron and thingy from nose.
Light and Dark Cajun Craze: apron pocket.
Dark Crumb Cake: Feet and pie plate.
Light Crumb Cake: Pie crust.
All tail feathers were colored with Light Blends: Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze.
Take a close look at the “Birds of a Feather” stamp set. It is super cute!! Now, it is time to move on to the next blog for more inspiration. ENJOY!
