VALENTINES DAY IS COMING!
You do not want to wait until the last minute to make your love a valentine card. Now is the time to get ideas and order your supplies to have in time to craft your card. Thus, I am sharing a Valentine card idea today. This card is super easy if you have the Forever Lovely Bundle, found on page 5 of the Occasions catalog. At first, when I looked at the dies in this set, one puzzled me. It is the rose corner die. Therefore, I want to show you what it can do and how to use it!
In this photo of the Lovely Flowers Edgelit Dies the mentioned puzzling die is circled:
THE DIE EXPLAINED
Let me explain how I used this die to make the red focal part on my card. I started with a 2 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Lovely Lipstick card stock. I positioned the die into the upper left corner lining up the edges of the flower with the top and side edge of the paper. Equally important, I made sure the longer straight line was straight horizontally and the shorter straight perpendicularly (1) Of course, this cut the flower into the corner but it did not remove the edges. (2) I lined up the card stock on my Stampin’ Trimmer with the cut line directly over the cutting groove and cut.(3-4) Likewise, I positioned the other side in the same manner and cut. (5)
THE FINISHING TOUCHES
I stamped the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick on the far right side of a 1″ x 3 1/4″ scrap of Whisper White. I added a 1-3/4″ length of 1/2″ ribbon found in the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack with Snail adhesive to the left side of this strip as shown. The sentiment layer is adhered with liquid glue. Next, laying this layer onto the Whisper White 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel for placement, I stamped the flourish of hearts angled to the upper right of the larger panel. Finally, I filled in around that flourish of heart with the tiny heart trio stamp using the same color giving the flourish a fuller look. After the stamping was done, I added the rose cornered element to the card front with dimensionals.
I hope I inspired you to think about Valentine’s Day and consider this beautiful bundle that is so very versatile. If you want to see another card I made with this bundle, click HERE.
