Hello Stampers!
Thank you for hopping through our blog today! This month’s theme is Bold & Bright…a challenge for me because I am not a brights girl…[bright maybe but not “brights”]. LOL
It seems that we all look forward to summer when the school routines are over only to find that many times we are busier during the summer months than any other time! I wanted to let Stampin’ Up!’s wonderful paper and accessories do most of the work for me for this card.
Let me say that I LOVE the new “Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper” found on page 142. Unlike the Sale-a-bration “Irresistibly Yours”, this pack comes with some embossed colored papers…YUM! I varied the depth of the layers by cutting the Whisper White cardstock 1/2″ smaller than the base card and then went back to 1/4″ smaller for each additional layer.
This photo shows the embossed design on the Watermelon Wonder DSP and the gold foil strip under the sentiment a little better. Although hard to see on film, the Happy Umpteenth Birthday has been heat embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing powder to make it shimmery. (Instructions below) Between the bright colors of the cardstock and the bling that was added with embossing, foil accent and sequins, this is a flashy card that anyone would be delighted to receive.
No card is finished until the inside is finished. The layers and stamping are done in the same colors as the front of the card. Scroll down for measurements and instructions.
Here are the products I used to create this card:
