Welcome to the Greek Isles Trip Achievers Blog Hop! This post is the first time for me to join this hop…do not ask me why. I have had a lot of fun creating with products from the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog that goes live on June 4th. This particular card is going to be the card I give my husband for Father’s Day. Although he is not my father, he is the father of our four adult children. He indeed has been my True North!
Here is a sneak peek of the card:
You can see from this up-close photo that I used the Sailing Home Bundle for this card. I love that the dies include two “dials” that can be placed one on top of the other for dimension. I added the gold metallic pearl to the center for texture and prominence. The Sail Away Trinkets have the small anchor seen here, something else that is very symbolic of my husband in my life.
The full card:
I hope you can see the gorgeous detailed embossed die-cuts the Smooth Sailing dies produce. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto a 1/4″ strip crumb cake cardstock then inserted each end, one at a time, into the Classic Label punch to shape the ends before adhering to the Night of Navy strip. The lighthouse and the compass are stamped with Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock then sponged on the edges with Early Espresso ink. The helm was die-cut from Soft Suede cardstock. The rope and knot were die-cut from Crumb Cake cardstock and the edges sponged with Crumb Cake ink. So, who is your True North? Who will get the card you make like this one?
The Measurements:
- Soft Suede – 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored and folded at 5 1/2″, a scrap to cut helm.
- Come Sail Away DSP – 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Crumb Cake – 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ for stamping and die-cutting
- Night of Navy – 3/8″ x 3″
- Early Espresso – scrap to cut two dials
Side view for dimension:
In this side view, I hope it is easier to see how to assemble the card. The lighthouse, helm, rope, and knot are all adhered using liquid glue. Adhere the anchor with two mini glue dots. Add the compass to the project with dimensionals and the sentiment with mini dimensionals. All the products you need to make this card are listed below. I hope you will continue on to my fellow demonstrator’s creations! Thank you for hopping along with us today!
