Welcome to Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Program monthly blog hop! I hope all of our creations will inspire you. We will be using some products from the upcoming January-June Mini Catalog (previously known as the Occasions Mini) and the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) catalog. My card uses two items from the SAB catalog; the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set and the Small Bloom Punch. As an aside, you may be interested to note that the Small Bloom Punch will be carried-over at the end of SAB. Without further ado…
THE CARD
I used only three colors in addition to Whisper White to achieve this delicate, yet classy card: Tuxedo Black, Smokey Slate, and Real Red. Although this card may appear to be complicated or take a long time to create, neither is true. Using only one stamp set, Thoughtful Blooms, and the three inks listed above, it was quick and easy. I am going to start adding videos to my blog and YouTube soon. I will be featuring this card early because of its simplicity, as well as the fact that you can earn it for FREE. After all, who doesn’t like FREE?
Some Details
You may be wondering how I made the little basket. It is a trick I learned at On-Stage and want to share it with you. I stamped the border stamp using Tuxedo Black Memento ink three times in a row, one nestled under the other, onto a 1 1/2″ strip of Smokey Slate cardstock. Next, I punched the “basket” using the Tailored Tag punch found in the annual catalog. Do you see it? The basket uses one-half of the punch! Isn’t that cool?!?
Additionally
I used the largest Stitched So Sweetly Dies, from the Mini Catalog, to make the scalloped rectangle to show-off my beautiful bouquet. Finally, I used a 1″ strip of Whisper White scrap to stamp the various flowers to be punched-out and dimensionaled onto the center of the bouquet. I do not want to bore you by typing all the details to create this cardl. These tips will have to suffice until I can do my first blog video.
Side-View of the Thoughtful Blooms Card
In this view, I think you will be able to see how the punched flowers add dimension in the center of the bouquet. Also, to add interest to the card front, I added the 1/2″ strip of Real Red cardstock. TIP: I completed my focal image (the basket of flowers with the bow attached) and placed it (without adhering) on the card to determine where to glue the red strip. You can see that it is in line with the small knotted ribbon on the basket.
Up-Close
Speaking of the small knot of ribbon, it is a new 3/8″ double-stitched Real Red Satin Ribbon found in the “From My Heart Suite” in the Mini catalog, which goes live on JANUARY 3, 2020. Be sure you add this to your list of most wanted items. It makes tying knots and bows easy!
